Being primarily a road cyclist, but having not bought a new bike for far too long, I'm fining myself compelled to consider a hardtail.
I'm thinking a little trail riding might be fun, and also my son wants to do an off road charity ride later this year. I may also use it for a short commute if a job app comes off.
I can get 50% cashback if I buy it from Evans, which seems pretty compelling, much as I'd like to get it from my LBS. This is on any bike up to £800 (including sale bikes). I'm thinking probably go for a 29er, with disc brakes, and it'll need to be a large (I'm around 6'1), any ideas? Oh, and of course I'll be riding whatever I buy in advance, and of course i'll buy the one which feels best to ride, but it helps to have some idea of what you want to test ;-)
