Which road bike?

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie on here but not to cycling, I have a GT tempest mountain bike but would like a new road bike for around £1000, I have tried out the merida scultura but feel for a it of extra cash I could do better. I ride to and from work everyday and take part in charity bike rides. For those of you that may know them I have completed the Tour De Tendring and Essex castle ride although I have also cycled Peddars way.

I would like to get a lightweight bike with shimano 105 and in a dark colour, apart from that I would welcome any buying advice anyone wishes to offer. Thanks in advance.
