Which Shoe Cleats...

Sorry if this is a silly question but my shoes and cleats on my 8 year old bike are wearing out...

Dreading putting a new stiff pair on but i will need to so..

So what cleats are compatible for the shimano pedals i have...

I am some what confused....

And are all shoes compatible with all cleats?

Shimano have two systems, so two different kinds of cleats.
Which pedals have you got exactly?

You don't have to use SPD-L for road, you can use what ever system is more comfortable and practical for you.

Don't let the arbitrary and also quite frankly weird road/off road thing confuse you.

They are, as far as I know the pedals that came with he bike....

I wil have to go into a LBS and get the info I guess

Or you could post a picture for the cyclo-geeks to identify which system you've got.
