Hi,

I live about 15miles from cannock chase and the "follow the dog" trail.

I have 3 options for a day out there...

1-Ride there, do a lap then ride home

2-Go in the car, and do 2 or 3 laps and drive home

3-Do either out or back journey mainly on the train, do a lap and come home the way I didnt get there (If i go on the train then ride home, if I ride there come home on the train.)

With regards to fitness (and loosing blubber) which would be the best option?

Please bear in ming Im not super fit and a ride of 15 miles will have one or 2 breaks. So i guess it comes down to whats best for fitness - 15 road miles or 7 off raod miles?

Cheers, Paul.

I would say whatever gives you the most time in the saddle.

Do all of them in rotation. Most of the time I ride or run from the house but occasionally I fancy something different and the car is employed to get me further afield.

Note:

"Undulating" means 'it goes over Cannock Chase'.

PPS. If you do go on this ride, I'll be the crazy looking guy on the Land Rover MTB with Conti UltraGatorskins.
