Whipped cream canisters seem very easy to buy cheaply. I had not realised that whipped cream was so popular. Can they be used as a cheap alternative to CO2 canisters?

I think the whipped cream sort are a different size, so might not work in a tyre pump. More importantly, they contain nitrous oxide. Put that with rubber, and you've made a hybrid rocket motor. I really really wouldn't chance it.

Well, it depends what you're trying to do. I mean, I'm as keen on explosions as the next bloke, but I'd prefer to be slightly safe when it goes bang!
