My local council has started painting bicycle outlines(Like the ones showing the cycle zone at traffic lights) in white all over the place, just stuck in the carriageway of minor roads. Anybody know what this means? Puzzled in Malvern!
a) A popular daily newspaper that always presents a balanced point of view.
b) A trash rag that is slightly to the right of Ghengis Khan and hates all modes of transport other than SUV's
To return to the OP, it's a far more sensible way of marking recommended cycling routes. Instead of painting white lines that suggest (to cyclists and drivers alike) that people should cycle in the door zone, a series of cycle symbols mark the route.
I always thought they were cycle routes without cycle lanes. For example there is one that goes through the centre of Welling and I just assumed it was to signify you were still on the cycle route.
A group of simpletons from the local council saw some beings on strange looking metal frame machines with a wheel at each end.
Since then they have painted images of these visitors on the road hoping for a re-appearance.
