When there are parks cars on both sides of the road? (So traffic coming from either direction will have to pull out).

There's a road like that on one of my routes home, I've just ridden it, I had already pulled out and was riding down between the parked cars, when a car coming in the opposite direction just swung out round his set of parked cars, without slowing, charged at me (without slowing) and held his hand on the horn! (you would be hard pressed to fit and bike and car side by side down that particular bit of the road). Cue me diving between two parked cars as he went whoosing past, and shouted something incomprehensible at me.

Fortunately for him, I wasn't in a position to be able to catch him up and have a word!

In a situation like that, common courtesy prevails, unfortunately that driver didn't have any.

In Spain the answer to the question 'who has priority' is 'I DO'

I would say the vehicle which has already started travelling between the parked cars, so in this instance, you.

There is a part of my commute where this stuff happens quite a lot. I would have thought that if the bike gets to the restriction first, it would be good manners for the on-coming traffic to let the bike get through. Unfortunately quite a few Chelsea Mums don't seem to agree with this and burn through at race speeds leaving me with twenty inches between the gutter and the shiny wings of their tractors...

I would imagine from your description that you were able to stay within your lane (although in the door zone of the parked cars) and the oncoming car was not (being much wider). Therefore you have priority as the car needs to enter your lane.

In exactly that situation a while ago in wimbledon, i was the driver with (club kit wearing) cyclist coming the other way. I stopped and waited as he cycled the (?) 100m toward me. He cycled past without any acknowledgement, nod or finger flick of thanks for my courtesy.

Some peanuts drive cars, other ride bikes

If you are not crossing the white line, you have priority.

I had that last year, I was in my lane, no cars on my side, narrow road, 4x4 Landrover pulled out as I was coming down a hill. Blocked my side, I didn't stop, he had to, as I then slipped down the side  That was me being a bit evil, but I had run out room.

Yes, quite. Therefore it is clear cut, I do have priority in that situation. Nevertheless, I'll always hold back if there's a car already coming the other way. Hopefully the twunt who barged me out of the way today is local and I'll see him around for a quiet "word" ...

This is quite simple. You have priority,no ifs or buts.

highway code rule 163..

Overtake only when it is safe and legal to do so.

give way to oncoming vehicles before passing parked vehicles or other obstructions on your side of the road..

The approaching vehicle was breaking the law.
