Why are there so few non-Victorian ghosts?

Night Train

Maker of Things
Two of the four ghosts I've seen have been of fairly modern men, the sort of man that wouldn't look out of place at any period over then last 40 years.
One was too faint to see clearly but may have been another man and the last was an Edwardian maid.

I still don't believe in ghosts.

All this bollocks about ghosts is part of the whole myth of Britishness. It goes wih the countryside/happy peasants myth perpetuated by the likes of Gainsborough and Constable (see the other thread on this) horse brasses, Olde England, horses and carriages (see at its most vulgar at wealthy chav funerals) John Bull, books on bygone Britain, traditional fayre, half-timbered houses, cosy country cottages.... it's all crap and as bad as Scotland's crap like Nessie, kilts, bagpipes, haggis, tartans, clans.... I could go on and on.

It does amuse me that someone so 'dead' set against the idea starts another thread, I dont really believe in headless horsemen and period costumes floating across the rooms in old castles, some people do but its wrong to judge them for it.

IMO to dismiss something and not have an open mind in life is a little naive, we dont know everything there is to know and to presume you do is foolish surely?

Here dave, try some of these http://www.wikihow.com/Exercise-an-Open-Mind

Oh dear God! I feel nauseous!

(To think they were building in flood-prone areas even in those days!)

Maybe the ghosts are not Victorian, maybe they just like dressing that way? The ghostly clothes shops might be rubbish. Maybe once Ted Baker dies we'll see an improvement.
