You've got things all wrong.
A garage is where you keep all sorts of worthless rubbish while your car which is potentially worth many thousands sits outside at the mercy of the elements.
yebbut if you leave tools, lathes, wirkbenches and half finished projects out in the road, they'll be ruined and / or stolen.
I have one of those waterproof cars that lives in the street just fine.
