...on the bike?

I do it as a background to listen to while I wheel away the hours. I have the attention span of a goldfish, and need a lot of stimulation to keep me motivated. Also the beat gets my cadence sorted, and helps me attack hills.

Any 'silent runners', please start a thread called, "Why don't you listen to music...."

Pretty much the same reasons as you, it helps me balance my cadence, keeps me focused and blocks out unneccessary noise and I'm very passionate about music.

Just because I don't have time enough to listen to all the stuff I want to (no music at work). I load a selection of stuff I haven't heard yet onto the ipod and work out what sounds promising while commuting- I have a special extra long and almost traffic-free version of my commute for this activity so I can afford a bit of extra concentration on the music.

I always listened to music whilst traveling, weather it be by foot, train, bus or car. so i thought why not by bike.

Don't do it any more now though, as it takes to much time to set up and i find it a distraction in some cases.

I must admit, I tend to listen out all the time for cars etc coming from behind. I have wondered about listening to music, but feel this would detract, so I have never given it a go.

loads of others as well. Dont get time to listen to them at home. Trained and ran the london marathon using the same as well. Like to listen to the today programme in the morning, but find exercising to music difficult, dont know why.
