I think you may have misunderstood.

I think he was implying if that asylum seekers got into the UK by bike how much hate filled douchebags would hate cyclists even more.

I wondered, but i think the idea is:

Various columnists like to whip up hatred of cyclists, and they tend also to be a bit right wing about people like asylum seekers. If they were able to say 'all asylum seekers are cyclists (and "therefore" all cyclists are asylum seekers)', we'd all have been mown down by knuckledraggers by now...

well at least its somewhat reassuring to find im not the only one out there.

and yes he actually tried to out the cigarette as if i was an ash tray on wheels. still have the burn on my knee, thank god i had shaved my legs otherwise i might have gone up in flames.

Been commuting for less than a year now and am slowly losing any tolerance for this kind of behaviour. I can feel myself counting to ten...again... and again.
