Do you leave your WiFi router switched on all the time or do you only switch it on when using your PC? Are there any hidden benefits to either way?

I have mine on all the time:

Advantage - I don't have to wait for it to start up.
Disadvantage - there is a longer period of time when it could, potentially, be hacked.
(I use a stand alone PC as a firewall between my home network and the wifi router just in case there is a hacking attempt.)

All the time - even when the PC or laptops aren't on, my mobile phone is using the nework for a data connection and my main radio's an Internet one so won't work without WiFi!

All the time. Access internet for radio via my Sonos music system, and also connect regularly with the iPad so need it on constantly. Actually, thinking about it we rarely use the PC nowadays... much more convenient and quicker with the iPad.

I never have wi-fi turned on, too insecure, all links cabled because it's faster and much more secure.

Only when computer's on, not much point having it on other times as I have nothing else to connect to it.
