As usual, victims of their own success; a handful of intelligent people making money and an army of untrained chimps stuffing jiffy bags.

I ordered 2m of Hope brake hose (it's priced per metre) to fix my leaking rear brake.

You can guess the rest - they sent me two 1-metre lengths.

Now I have no bike for the weekend. I thought it was so obvious that I'd want to cut it to length that I'd be insulting their intelligence if I pointed this out. Wrong!

Pathetic.

Yeah. I never thought to try; always after the lowest price!

My LBS wanted roughly £60 to replace the hose & bleed both brakes...

They are cyclists (www.mtbe.co.uk) Obviously they the employ average Joe to work in their warehouse, who made the mistake. CRC have done it themselves to me.

Wiggle used to be an LBS, I remember shopping in Butlers on Highlands Road!

I still cycle past them, and it is annoying that there is no "pickup" even in an emergency. I remember standing outside their premises with a broken derailleur and being told that they had to post it to me!



However they are no longer even a cycling company, and in fact owned by Bridgepoint whose portfolio covers everything from private healthcare through engineering. FatFace. Hobbycraft and Pret A Manger are some of their better known businesses.
