I keep my laptop on a table in the bay window of my flat and so I have an excellent view of the Danube bike path 30 yards away and right on the banks of the river. The touring season is well under way and loads of cyclists, some in very large groups, come by all the time. When they are just about level with my flat they get a view of the local castle, throning it above the river on a bluff. Many of them suddenly slam on the brakes to take a photo of it and this has caused a few near misses in the past. However, this year there seems to be an increase in the following drill:
see castle
get mobile phone/camera out of bar bag to take pic on the move
start wobbling
compose pic
wobble lots more
give up wobbling and suddenly stop, nearly falling over in the process
take pic
wobble off because now in wrong gear for a start
I'm wondering if I should start a book on when the first pile up will take place and who will cause it e.g. father of the family leading the way, cos he knows best or one of a pack of 30 blue rinsed grannies or a dopey teenager.
