You might get better help if you post in the Bikes, Accessories, Kit and Clothing section of the forum.

As we have no clue as to your fork dimensions so it would be pretty hard to say. Measure your fork and your head tube and then ask.

Looking at those lengths of thread though it would be a definitely maybe.

Thanks, I'll measure them up once I receive my bike as it's being painted at this time.

It looks like a new set of forks, so would have to be cut down to fit anyway. Most bike shops will have similar forks hanging up at a good price, so it might be worth asking them first with no postage charges either.

Surely if you have something of the quality of a Mercian it's a bit of a nonsense to get an unknown fork, that may or may not fit, from Taiwan? The fact that it refers to ".. specializing in fixed gear and single speed bicycles .." implies to me that it's probably a bit basic. The massively long threaded section and then cutting to size is also a bit unusual for a fork of any quality - the fork would normally made with the steerer tube compatible with the frame's headtube.

As suggested your LBS (or even Mercian) would be the place to ask?

^^^^^^ this
buy a new fork from Mercian - the frame deserves no less - but you'll need to give them the height of your head tube so you'll have the correct amount of thread for the headset.

Will do, just hope the new fork from Mercian doesn't cost a lot!! I may get Argos cycles to weld it for me.

Don't even think about it ... whatever the "crack" is like it's going to be structural in a fork - do the job properly and safely.

Been thinking about this - is the crack in the steerer tube? If so, I think Mercian should be able to change just that. Agree with robgul about not getting it welded.

Highly unlikely to be cost effective given the work to dismantle, refit, repaint etc against a complete new fork.

For interest, I just checked out their prices.....
New pair of forks – Romani crown (finish to choice – extra) £155.00
New fork column £59.00
I assume column = steerer?
New fork seems a bit expensive. Faggin built a new fork for my Faggin Columbus last year, and charged me 110 euros chromed - that didn't include shipping.

It's a little crack under the ridge/arch of the fork. I've seen some of these on Tokyo Fixed though for a good price, no import fees either and they look decent quality.

I've got a pair of really nice chrome Colnago forks, but they're for a fairly big frame size - 59cms I think. PM me if you're interested.
