The wise, adventurous, and above-average-good-looking explorers of CycleChat relish a visit to a nice wind farm...

Cycling, I find the approach to any windfarm quite inspiring, Green Rigg Wind Farm, in particular, a fairly main 'sandwich stop' for me.
That Wind Farm 'tourist boom'does imply that the Nimby objections are a big minority, so I wonder, does anyone else enjoy Wind Farm visits/stops?

I don't consider them a blot on the landscape but some people living close to them claim health issues.

Quite a lot of people seem to ride up to Caton wind farm. And if you want a bit of off road, there's a decent bridleway down the other flank into Claughton (pronounced Clafton).

There is a small road between llandiloes and cefin lea in mid Wales, nice short cut so I thought!
It goes it 1000ft to a wind farm. No fun with a loaded touring bike!!

I'm not sure I'd want to see the fells in the Lake District spoilt with wind farms, and yet I used to quite like the golf balls on Fylingdales, and was a bit sad to see those go. (The new phased array is a lot less obtrusive, but not particularly pretty.) I'm rather a fan of the Ribblehead viaduct, and yet I'm sure that must have been regarded as an eyesore when it first went up.
