For once I'm not talking about bodily emissions, but flipping windy conditions.

I walked the dog this morning, first thing. It was warm, humid, and there was not a breath of a breeze.
Got home, got my bike out to cycle to work. As I put my pannier on, checked my tyres, etc, it was warm, humid, and there was not a breath of a breeze.
I pedalled away from the house, in a southerly direction, and it was warm, humid, and there was a strong headwind.
I pedalled onwards, turned a corner, now travelling in an easterly direction. It was warm, humid, and there was a strong headwind.
In fact my journey to work took me on roads which went south, east and west. Whichever direction I went in, there was a strong headwind.
I stopped at one point, as the leaves on the trees, and the grass and plants at the side of the road and in fields showed no sign of even moving. When I stopped, it was warm, humid, and there was not a breath of a breeze.
Moved on again, and lo! the headwind was there again

Good bit of old fashioned air resistance- making yourself as slippery as possible is about all you can do about it.
I get depressed on days when there is ~10mph tail wind for the ride home, then as soon as I'm doing 15-20 on the flat that becomes a headwind, sob!
