Does the wind ever stop blowing. I am beginning to understand why so many French people have mental health problems aggravated by the Mistral. This current spell has been going on for weeks now. Everytime I go out it's blowing half a gale, and it doesn't seem to matter which way I go it's always a headwind!

You could always fit a fairing to the front of you bike or build an aerodynamic pod around the machine to slice through the wind.

Normally hate the wind, but it's been windy for so long that commuting home yesterday I was thinking that this wind thing isn't so bad after all.

I guess if we're subjected to something for so long, we kinda get used to it.

Just been out shopping, straight into a headwind from the West. We actulay got off & pushed in the end as was impossible to stay in a straight line... Loved the journey home though!!

I'm growing to like it, everything is a challenge, but I feel good about getting where I'm going

as an example endomondo gave me 11 minutes at 4 miles for my run in on a windless day but the next day was windy and it was 16 which is almost knocking a third off my speed

I know exactly what you mean, just been out earlier and added an extra 20min to my usual time because of a strong headwind!! Bout time for it to ease off me thinks..

Like others I'm finding that dealing with the wind is just normal now, most rides tend to be like training rides and I'm thinking that when it finally drops we will all be flying along.

I did 35 miles this morning, turning for home at 15 miles, which was when I turned into the wind, and it remained against me all the way home. I was on my heavyish hybrid with panniers which didn't help. On my roadbike it is certainly a lot easier butting through it.

Anyone remember summer a few weeks ago.

Yes. That was it. Gonna be a long winter now. Can we have global warming again please?

good news everyone, if you ride off road on the way home then you don't give a shoot about the wind

I took the coast path home which is awesome singletrack in places feet away from sheer cliffs, I was only blown off twice

Must remember to never ride that way if the wind blows off shore

I'm finding riding in the wind to be an integral part of my rides at the moment.
I am just getting myself back into serious cycling after many years away, and have to say the current blustery weather has made it all the more challenging.

And yes it's true - sometimes no matter which direction you head in it always seems to be into a headwind. I think I'll miss it when it's gone!
