Depends on your body and what temperatures you plan to ride in, but in general basic fleece gloves aren't going to keep you warm if it gets really cold because they offer no wind or water protection.
I like the Sealskinz myself. They are a few bob more, but on a cold day they earn their keep. The KJ541 road cycling glove is beautiful, add in the liner gloves if its going to be really really cold.

Than said I have just been looking / trying on the '10 version of the Altura Night vision glove. The latest version is made up of 2 gloves, inner and outer, giving 3 possible combinations. I am tempted because while the Sealskinz are great they can be too warm on mild wet days.
