2 x Smart half watts on the rear, one solid, on flashing. One x Generic Chinese 1800 lumens cree job on the front to cause cataracts in incoming drivers, and a Blackburn Scorch 2.0 set to flashing but also ready as a back up in case the main headlamp fails.

The shape of the frame is picked out in 3M Amber reflective tape, and red on the rear stays.

If any one wipes me out and says SMIDSY I shall come back and haunt them, cos.im told I'm lit up like the spaceship from close encounters.

I've been looking around the house for the last week or so for a spare rear light, found it last night, in my rucksack that I use everyday

I've been adding anything & everything I can to highlight my existence in the dark over the years.
The ankle bands included. Main lights & angled incidental lights. Hi-viz & reflective features.
Most can be picked up cheap.

ah the hi viz is useless in the dark dogma

it's a bit hard to buy something hiviz without reflective material on, and in any flalsh photography riders in hi viz coats seem to light up for some reason, I see lots of riders in the dark and the ones without lights in dark kit can be very hard to see, often mostly by silhouette, a hiviz top works well if only by being a uniform bright colour when lit by headlights

I've always found a hi viz jacket too hot for commuting unless its very crappy weather, a gillet though, much better, gives some viz/reflective, not too hot although adding a nice margin of warmth and packs small

good lights don;t have to be at all expensive for commuting, a good front is worth spending what you can on though, when I first spent too much on a very bright exposure light I noticed the difference at once

Hi-Vis can't work in the dark, because the natural UV light required is not available at night.

The lighter colour may get you noticed, because of the contrast in colours. But in itself, is no guarantee that you will be.

Jacket with reflective bits, Cree T6 front light, couple of lights on the back a cheap non to bright one on the helmet.
@cyberknight if they are the ones from Aldi, they still fit bladed spokes, ran last winter with them, didn't get knocked off unlike the previous winter wearing a hi-viz + T6

Those little Rolson rear lights are excellent. Small, reasonably tough, very bright.
