I went over to Gatorskins last week after my bontrager race lights let me down 4 times in 2 weeks.... (Oh how I chortled!)
The Gatorskins do seem to roll nicely.

I have made the move to the Durano Plus 25mm tyres last night for my roadie commuter (18klm each way, all weathers).
1st impression is that they roll very well, have excellent grip (it was raining this morning but I felt much more confident in corners). My old tyres were the Bontrager Hard Case and had approx. 4000 kilometres on them. They were great for puncture resistance but much less comfortable and a bit dodgy in the wet.

Riding the streets of Dublin, the roads are terrible so puncture protection is of most importance to me, especially for the commute to work. Was looking forward to trying out the Durano Plus and so far it's very positive.

I used Luganos for London commuting for years because they were cheap, coloured and worked, but I did get some flats and they did wear, LB moved me up to Cont Super sports plus which are much much more robust but still go well, I've worn those right through the rubber and ridden on the orange breaker layer without problems

bit hard to find in shops though but frequently on promotion online

tyre threads are rubbish anyway because everyone recomends they tyres they have on their bike

What are Winter Tyres anyway? There's enough wet around all year to use a tyre you trust in the wet, perhaps something slightly more robust but again who has a problem with robust as long as it rolls (Marathon ...), if you want to ride on ice and snow then yes, that's a winter tyre

Just switched to 28mm Vittoria Rubino Pro Tech from 25mm Gatorskins on the CdF commute bike. They're so much comfier, wish I'd done it ages ago.

Just put my w!nter tyres back on (Mitchelin Pro 4 Endurance) after getting a p'ture with the Summer tyres, does that mean it w!nter
Nope, it just means you got a puncture ^_^

I have 28mm GP 4 seasons on my commuter and Mrs SG has 25mm Luganos on hers. Both stay in all year round.

My trusty Trek FX 7.3 now has two marathon+ new tubes as well with mudguards., had the old once over greased and oiled by lbs and ready for winter commute. Tyres make no difference to my speed, I just care about the puncture protection.
