I have a DAB radio at home but not in the car. Even on Digital I cannot find any reasonable stations. I am in Hampshire not the ends of the earth.

Is it just me or is the Radio provision crap? Is it too much to ask to just have someone who has a brain in their head to ease me into the day with a little music and amusing conversation.

No. It's not just you. DAB or Dead And Buried is a scandalous piece of mis information by the Government. It's frankly ancient technology, the bitrate of most stations is so low, the sound quality is in fact far worse than FM! As for choice- pah! There's nowt on DAB you can't get in excellent sound on FM (apart from some talk stations which sound fine on AM anyway), something called Passion, Planet Rock and 24 hr Traffic News. Great- Traffic News on a platform unavailable in cars- sums it all up really- a right royal fecking mess.

I can get about 24 stations here on DAB. on AM I can get hundreds- especially after dark. On short wave- thousands. How is DAB giving me more choice?

Most European countries have or are about to adopt DAB+ a far more superior system and have ditched DAB. They must be pissing themselves laughing at us with our crappy DAB.

The only reason they want us to use DAB is bacause it's far more difficult to pirate . It gives the Govt almost total control over what we hear. AND they can flog off the spectrum for huge profits.

Dear listeners, you have all been conned by the fecking Govt. and the sad thing is most folk haven't even noticed .

When I buy my shiny new red boat and park it 12 miles off of Clacton, complete with 100kw transmitter tuned to 981Khz am- I trust you'll be listening. I'll even do requests.

I like Wogan on Radio. And I like Evans. In fact in his early years he was on GLR (Greater London Radio) and was a breath of fresh air to Capital's dullness. Evans went through a bd phase (and a lot of drink) and I reckon he's on good form for the brekky show. I think he'll tone down from his evening prog and will get it about right I reckon. In ge he's close to the stations demographic.
