Hi Thomas, The funniest thing for me was the frustration in your (deep) voice. But your Mum is definitely a great sport and I really like the way she just laughed at you. My Mum would get all defensive at something like that, but I guess we all know how to word things in a way so that our Mum knows we're just making fun so I could have the same laugh with her if I worded things correctly I expect.

If I was a mum, your mum's the kind I'd like to be, driving glitches and all. Props to her!

Well, I'm glad that you've all enjoyed the video! I've decided to hide it as some people seemed to take it a bit seriously.

She lashed through that Red Light on the ASL and was attempting to continue through the Junction after that Red light. The Female Mr Mc Goo she might need to go to Spec Savers. I would rather walk,I have been with Drivers like this and do not get into Cars with them anymore.
The next lot are all from the same youtuber...some are replies.

That was a nightmare. You take your life in your hands with her. My hands were clutching my head when I saw that video. Amongst the ASLs and red lights, there were lots of side streets with loonies about to drive out suddenly. She doesn't seem to be aware that she is driving badly!
If she is making your sandwiches that early and driving like that, I'd make them myself.. and walk! PS Have you reported her yet?
if she wants you to walk, great. At least you will have your life. Take it!

I didn't really think any of those were necessary, or appropriate.

To be fair, Thomas, she effectively went through a red light (right over both her stop line and the advanced one), and then blamed having been on nights - you picked her up on that too. We're all laughing because we assume that as you are 'one of us', your Mum is probably a good sort at heart, but any copper following and seeing that red light jumping and hearing "I've been on nights" as an excuse probably wouldn't find it all that amusing.

It's a fine line, and sometimes luck, between an amusing family anedote, and someone being killed, so I can understand people being sensitive about it. If someone had been relying on the lights and crossing that road, a moment of inattention could have ended in a funeral.

I think anyone who drives, me included, has moments when they think 'oops, that was close/stupid', so I'm not trying to be superior here, just seeing both sides.

Hi Thomas. Your Mum had a lapse in concentration that didn't take her into any specifically dangerous area so I think that the stress of Christmas is obviously getting to some (that and the fact that some on the youtube community tend to be quite sanctimonious).

Your Mum knew that she wasn't driving as she should (or I assume normally would) and you were there verbally pointing out her flaws, so as there was no harm done (other than to your Mum's ego ) it can be put down to a little lesson and "one of those things" that we have ALL been guilty of. I think you did the right thing taking it down though. Who needs to read that?

I watched a documentary once that said that with the way the human brain works it's actually a miracle that we don't have LOADS more crashes.
