I've just been to roofbox.co.uk to order some bits.

I know Thule isn't pronounced "thool" but "too-lay", but it seems wrong saying it like that.

Try 'flaksid' instead of the widely used 'flassid' for the word flaccid and witness a lack of recognition on peoples faces

Try saying Ikea, Iraq or Ibiza properly instead of Eyekea, Eyerak or Eyebeetha and see the looks on people's faces....

"der Puff" - exhaust, as from a car - pronounced "poof".
"der Auspuff" - exhaust pipe - pronounced "owss-poof".
"der Auspufftopf" - exhaust pipe muffler.

Also "die Untertasse" - saucer - but litterally means "undercup". Lol!

Both are correct.

Loo-tenant?

That just sounds American. Nothing wrong about 'lef-tenant' in as much as anything is definite in language.

My cycle panniers are Vaude.

Not "vord" as it may look, as they are German - thus "fow-der" ('fow' like 'ow, that hurts!')

Ever since my Mum pointed it out as an aid to spelling the words properly, when I was about 9, I make the effort to sound the n in environment, and government...

Apparently as a young kid I was so well spoken, despite coming from the depths of Essex, I used to refer to what we had on Sundays as "Roast Beeth." School got me speaking more slovenly though.

My dad helped me to spell 'psychology'.

The p is silent, as in bath.
