Feel free to retort "oxymoron!".

I'm a bit fed up with The Guardian lately. which has been my preferred news site for a while now, because the site itself behaves like a malware site, doing its best to popup random annoying ads, and having barely-restrained use of animations that distract from the reading. I was hoping there was something better out there (in fact, a bit like The Guardian in its early days).

Regards,

--- Victor.

I know what you mean, I think it's part of their plot to extract cash out of us by getting us to 'Subscribe Now'

The BBC new website inquire smooth and benign. The down side is that the content lacks depth, and you just know most of the journos wore Che Guevara T shirts when they were teenagers.

I had exactly the same feeling as you recently and have tried a few different ones eggs Independent and BBC.

Independent was a rubbish site to navigate round I felt. BBC is good of course although the most recent version is a bit clickbaity.

At the moment I'm back with the Guardian again although I'd be interested to hear if anyone recommends anything else

Expecting financial reward for providing a news service, it's outrageous:angry:.
I've bought a Grauniad every Saturday for over 30yrs, they've had plenty out of me.
