I am giving some serious thought to getting another road bike and I've short listed these.. it must have a
50/34 compact and be 10 speed and a price range of £700 -£800.

1/ Specialized Allez Elite £810
2/ Trek 1.5 £750
3/ Giant Defy 2 £ 800
4/ Boardman Team £ 725

Curved ball.. Specialized Sirrus comp hybrid £720 I like hybrids so not a problem and it has good gearing.

Any Thoughts.

It's hard to pick a winner of of that lot, since they're all very similarly specified, although without looking at the details there will be one of those that stands out above the rest, but the most important thing of all is to make sure the bike fits and suits your needs.

I have the Trek 1.2, so same geometry as the 1.5 but with lower groupset. I like it, it's a nice, neutral sort of bike and has been comfy enough to 40 miles so far.

My road bike will only be used for normal use not racing.
I'm going to Malaga bike shops tomorrow to have a sit on a few so I will let you know?
Cheers

I will if they have a demo bike thats for sure.

So here's what happened today.

The Specialized Sirrus Comp and the Elite shop gave no discount.. so there of the list.
Saw nice Caad 8 but its a triple so thats no good as I want a compact.
Giant Defy 2 looks shabby so thats off the list..
Felt 85 with 105 gear was a nice bike but in battleship grey wasn't appealing enough.

Saw the Trek 1.5 and that wasn't too bad, but what took my eye was two other Treks and they were a Trek Madone 2.1 @ €1049 (2014) and a Trek 2.3 Madone (2013) @ €1099 about £860 and £890 at the exchange rate..
Its just under a £100 more but loads better I think..
Any comments on the last two?
