So, what's with all the hype about these things?
The last Games Console I played on was one of these

Seems that they've improved a bit since then.....

Not sure I like the way gaming has gone, I still have a PS1 & PS2 which suit my needs (GT4, Need For Speed, Crash etc). These modern 'games' are all far too violent, and even with age restrictions still end up being played by youngsters.

Wasn't the Xbox One released today? - Cue large amounts of people off work 'sick'....

But on the plus side a raft of 360`s and PS3 will be dirt cheap after xmas, I got a second hand 360 for £20 several months back but the kids seem to play it more these days than I do.
I dont think wifey would be happy about the cost of the next gen consoles especially this time of year. Can you justify the price?

My PS3 has been put away because I never touch it, all the games have become samey or just rehashes of previous versions

You could always lie
I think she would notice, I get questioned every time I get a parcel.
As for the games being rehashed, I could`nt agree more. It makes me laugh how the CoD kiddys can justify the price of the new games.
We mainly use ours for Netflix and playing films off the network, but it's been very good as a games machine.
I did similar, but we bought a new HD recorder that had smart TV and blue ray, so the PS3 became redundant.

I really do not like the direction theses consoles are going, they have become multimedia platforms. I used to game alot on PC but could not afford to upgrade all the time when new games came out, this is why I bought a 360. I have a PC so why do I need another all in one box? If they dedicated themselves to producing a sole gaming device as good as PC gaming (graphics wise) then I might put up the funds.
