Race bikes are basically designed to ride fast uphill and on the flat. They tend to be light, and this may mean less robust forks. That Forme you're looking at is not a weakling with a reba. If you want it for general riding you may have to tweak the seating position with a shorter stem, higher, wider bars.
Someone has asked a similar question on STW, which may help you choose

It's a blurred boundary, but essentially, you're looking at shorter travel (100mm), steeper HA, lighter weights, and obviously as you get lighter, you get more expensive. I don't expect race bikes to be less robust, although at the very high end extra weight saving measures can be taken in consideration of the rider's weight, as a lot of racers are quite light anyway. But you're in custom territory by then anyway.

If you're thinking of racing XC, go and race whatever you have at first and develop your own ideas of what will work for you as a race rig. It's not going to be the bike that holds you back at first.

Here for rides.
Don't buy a race bike unless you need one to race. A more general purpose less race-oriented XC bike will allow you to enjoy a broader palette of MTB riding whilst you work out what direction your interests will take you. Race XC bikes can be (too much of) a handful on technical downhill terrain and force you to back off on big downhills. Of course if climbing is your thing they may be spot on.
