I used to get fruit most years on mine in warm, protected London garden - full of seeds and completly inedible, but great for the kids to take to school

Just had a read on the web and that seems to be it. It dies away completely in the winter (it can get very cold here, -17°C is our lowest so far) , but keeps returning. A bit weed-like really .
