Does anyone know when catching the train from York to Glasgow if you have to carry your bike up any stairs and over a walking bridge to get to the departure platform.

I'm asking because if I have a fully loaded touring bike it's going to be heavy so I would like to be forewarned to plan for it.

Thanks for any help.

cheers

York, like many other mainline stations, has a lift, so you should be fine.
The only place I've ever had to carry my bike has been leicester station but that's because they were repairing the lift. Peterborough doesn't have a lift but it does have a great big ramped bridge...

More lift facts to follow (yawn!)

You probably will depending on which platform you are on but there are plenty of lifts, so that you can go to one from the other, via a subway.

It's easy enough and no problem!

Yes. I've never seen any northbound trains leave from platform 3, so you will have to use the lifts or stairs ;)
