Living Legend & Old Fart
According to Wikipedia, India (where I think this video was taken) had a road death rate of 16.1 per 100,000 inhabitants per year, compared with UK at 3.59. That works out at about 188,000 road deaths per year in India. I'm not sure that we should be taking India as an example to follow for road safety.
.. and a lot more people die there (interestingly, nearly the same number per 100,000 as India)

Wkikpedia is only a start point for research and not a definitive source!
The two posters above have quoted deaths per 100,000 but delve a little deeper - look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_vehicles_per_capita
For comparision, I an using Wilipeadia otherwise I would be comparing apples to oranges! UK vehicle ownership is 525 vehicles per 1000 whereas India is only 15. Motorcycles are not included in the Wikipedia link.
So are indian drivers much more dangerous than UK drivers? How does motorcycle ownership in India compare with UK? How do deaths involving buses and other public service vehicles compare?
Go to the busiest traffic lights in your town during rush hour anf count the number of motorcycles you see - not very many is it? Compare that to any Indian city
