23 degrees at 6.30am this morning. Ambient temp in the restaurant was 27 in the morning, and by lunchtime it was 33*C.

In my potwash this morning I took some temps as the machines were running. 34*C over the trough (a running water area where we take plates and cutlery off a carousel, rinse and send around to the washing machine). The Washing machine area where we unload the crockery and cutlery was 40*C.

I havent even been able to measure the humidity. Lunchtime was hotter down my potwash still. I had to pour cold water from the tap over my head and back to help cool me down. I drank 2L of water and pissed an egg cup.

And people say my job is easy, LMAO!

The few years I worked in the kitchens, the summers were very hot. Standing by a pizza oven all day is not nice.

If you cant stand the heat.......

Thankfully now I work in an air conditioned office, but that doesnt help me to stay cool on the commutes!.

It was at least 22 at 07:00 this morning.

Yep, Kitchens are just as hot.Ours have been condensed from a 40 foot square area down to 15... thats 7 chefs squeezed in there whilst renovations are undertaken. Suprised no one has been stabbed, burned or punched, LOL

Had a steady twenty nine degrees in my class room unless it had pupils in it when the temperature went up to thirty one degrees.

So much for a building designed to self ventilate and maintain a steady 'cool' temperature.

the new "offices" we are in are steel containers bolted together. at 6.30 am it was 25 degrees. at lunchtime the Project director relented and sanctioned some "cooling" - 12 desk fans placed round an office with 50 people in. all it did was move warm air round. the ride home was cooler

Worked as a chef for quite a few years whilst at college and uni and 10 hour shifts in 45 degree heat during the summer used to be killers. Had quite a few KP's faint over the years, one chef as well that was prone to heat exhaustion. Luckily they installed air-con in the end, at least in the prep area anyway so a bit of welcome relief during quiet periods.

After having Chemo, I felt the cold very easily, and I remember that 35 was just when it was getting nice and pleasantly warm for me (I'd be seen happily walking about in a jumper at 30+ degrees) :becool:

It took me about 5 years for that to wear off, but even now, it isn't really heat that bothers me, it is sunburn!
