Your thoughts on the Carrera Zelos Junior?

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting worried and the boy wants a road bike. Of course, Isla bikes are the bike that everyone raves about for youngsters, but at half the price of an Isla bike, I wondered what CCers thought about this:

Similar price to the decathlon junior road bike (I think), my ex husband seems to think this is the better option of the two.

Looks pretty decent to me. Make sure there are shims in the levers though if you go for it as those are full size STIs which a lot of adults can find a bit big.

Having a 9yo who has a Decathlon Triban Junior (2 in fact!) it has some limitations; there's no mech hanger, meaning that any issues with the rear mech = a bent frame. The gears are top-bar mounted and there's 7 of them.

If this had been available, I'd have chosen it over the Triban Junior.
