:bicycle:so i'm doing the zone 2 training on the road and have been for the past month. i'm staying on the small ring 99% of the time keeping my cadence high for typically 60 miles at the minute. the question i have is, to get the most from this z2 endurance work, should i be high cadence 100+ or low 80 ish. if what i'm reading is correct, then z2 improves the lactate clearance process, but how does cadence fit in? i'm going on the idea that training to pedal faster first, then resistance is the way forward?

i'd be happy to hear some opinions.

ps i'm also doing turbo intervals and intend the 60 mile trips to creep up as the months go by, with the goal of improved road racing

oh and FWIW, 60 miles on the small ring, spinning is not THAT easy!
