I started cycle commuting in 2002, from North-west London to the city. Then I got a motorbike, and enjoyed the speed. Then in 2009, I thought about commuting again, so I joined this forum (username Phump). Then it all faded away into a non-cycling oblivion.
Now, I've had enough of my old converted heavy mountain bike, and decided I want to go for long weekend rides and short weekday evening spins.
I have managed (I think), to convince my better half to join me. He's not a cyclister-type, but I think he got more enthusiastic when I said..."I'll pay for it" .
So, I've pounded in some overtime at work, and on Sunday we have a pre-booked wobble up the road (I believe it is officially called a 'test ride') with him on a 2014 Pinnacle Two http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pinnacle/dolomite-two-2014-road-bike-ec054868#features and me on the 2014 Cannondale CAAD8: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/caad8-8-claris-2014-road-bike-ec053958#features (there was a late bike change when the one I was getting him sold out, then I realised his replacement was better than mine....so I upgraded mine!*)
Anyway, we are having a relaxing weekend away before then, when I will try my best not to keep thinking of shiney bikes...but I might fail :/
It's nice to be back
*Only fair I think, and I assume many others here will agree.
