England : Greater Manchester CANCELLED : Peak District 68 Miles. August

Hi

I've been meaning, returning the favour of doing a forum ride for some time now so here we go

This is a hilly event so some basic cycling distance / hill climbing will be needed for anyone who wants to join me though no one gets left behind.

Date: 9am Sunday 12th August 12 (Could change this ?)
Start / Finish: Marple. Co-operative. Stockport. Hollins Ln
Distance: 108km / 68 miles
Total Ascent: 2400m / 7874 feet
Total Time For Event: 6 / 8 Hours estimated

Goes over from Marple to Glossop then the climb over Snake Pass then pass Ladybower followed by a climb up Stanage Edge, before dropping to Hathersage for a cafe stop at Hathersage Pool'

Another climb then through Abney to the glider centre and Bretton, Ashford-in-the-Water and Kirkdale before another cafe stop at Monyash

Return to Marple through Millers Dale, Combs and Buxworth

Sounds good John, Similar to the run I led on New Years day (where were you for that one?). Unfortunately this date clashes with my current work pattern but I am waiting to hear about a possible change of role at work so things may be different nearer the time. Fingers crossed!

I'll post a route / map GPS file, I've changed the time from 10am to 9am, I think 9am would be best if thats OK with everyone else?

Its available as a calender event on Wednesday 8th August if anyone fancies it though I guess most will be working. See link below

If anyone fancies doing it under AUK on the Sunday I can get you a brevet card for the event, just PM me, though this will cost £2, though its possible we will get back out of time under Audax regulations depending how fast / slow we go ?
