Cyclist killed in Edinburgh

BBC Report:

A 78-year-old cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a car in Edinburgh.
It happened as the man cycled on the B800 Kirkliston to South Queensferry at about 10:00.
Police said the man's silver mountain bike collided with a black Mercedes.

Aye same here, its my normal route into town from Fife. I will say though that cars speed on this road but speed may not have been the contributing factor?!

Was there not another fatality there last year?
I waved goodbye to 2 of our CC Ecosse members headed on that road this afternoon.
Lots of us use that road, ride safe all.

That's part of my commuting route as well, a fairly straight road but cars can travel fast along it, the road surface is poor and I've had a couple of close passes - sad to hear, whatever the circumstances.

I have just discovered that the gentleman fatally injured is the father of a CC member.
