Can anyone explain to me about these things :wahhey:

I just don't get it..

Why forsake gears !

Because sometimes it's fun to do something different. Fixed isn't ideal for everything but as a way to get around quickly it's enormous fun and I think it makes you a more versatile cyclist.

Riding fixed means that as you go along and pass people on expensive geared bike, you can stop so far, pull them over and piss all over there gears.
When you go up a hill faster then them you can wait at the top and laugh before powering off.
Going down hill you keep up with them spinning like mad, but the top half is relaxed
On the flat you go on powering along/spinning dropping people on gears.
When you want to show off you can do some huge skid and be kool
you can trackstand which is even better

Basicly, dont knock it till you tried it. If you dont like it then ok, if you havent tried it dont say you dont see the point.

Oh, and gears are just a fad;)

Super heros ride fixed

My reasoning when buying one in Jan was in order of importance:

Exercise - more of
Less to replace through wear and tear
Less to go wrong on commuter - see above

It'd be perfect for round your neck of the woods Yenners.

Yeh.
Didnt you once crash into the back of another cyclist because you looked down at your gears and they brakes or am i thinking of someone else?
If it was you, you wouldnt have this trouble. All there is to do is put the brake on the handlebars and leg brake if you need, no need to look down to see what gear your in.
