I think my mum used to use the one that's in the Mrs Beeton book - if that's one of the ones you've found on the web, I can remember it being very tasty.
 
stuff the chutneys, and just make lots of salsa, with lots of garlic, chilli's and some aubergines... (and the other obvious ingredients, and anything else that takes your fancy- who needs an exact reipe?)

Whatever you do you end up with some sort of green gunk that you try to make taste like something other than unripe tomatoes xx(


I go with leaving them around in a desperate hope that they will go red and then bunging them on the compost when they dont.
