when i was spending a week in CPH many moons ago, cycling commuters wearing work clothes and high heels were a common sight... with the pedal wedged between the heel and sole of the shoe.

Been looking at the of late as well, but like shoes can't afford bike comes first.

If you need to be a bit careful of your hair (assuming people who wear heels have worked hard on their appearance, including their hair) check out the helmet http://www.hovding.se/ Until this post, I had not gone back to see if this idea was launched. But, I guess they are available. Cool but expensive.

I cycle in whatever shoes I'm wearing that day, mostly flats but sometimes heels (not as high as the original image) and wedges are my ultimate fave.
They actually give you the advantage of reaching the floor more easily when you stop - when you're toe is down, so is your heel!
