Sadly not enough for a new bike but hey ho.

I'm lucky to be able to get my prescription cycling glasses on health insurance. So, I've get £250 to spend    every year.

I've had Adidas evil eye (didn't like), Rudy Projects (good with interchangeable lenses and optical insert which meant I could flog the frame when I fancied), 2 pairs of Oakleys (RX lenses, 1 pair got nicked by some dodgy window cleaners , the other pair I wear now).

Thought I'd try something different....

Any ideas/advice?

go to Specsavers, get two pairs, and take me out to lunch at St. John (nose to tail eating, and a picture of a pig over the front door) with the left over dough!

Can't help you what to spend it on, but feel free to donate the old frames to me!  Could really do with a cycling specific pair of glasses, just can't afford them.... (or the insurance that would pay for them!)...

I'll think about it.....

The insurance is ok to be fair, it's Paycare and comes straight out of my salary so don't miss it. I pay £25 quid a month via the corporate scheme and get some decent benefits - dental, opticians, specialists, accident insurance etc. I've been in it about 18 years and each year have used more benefits that what I've paid in.

I thought they were too big and bulky and the optical inserts were really obvious.

I seen these a few year' back and liked the shape...

Horses for courses ! (my heads different to yours)

It was only the price that i found astounding.

I would imagine your head is completely different to mine Yens...

Why the price? You mean cos of the prescription lens? I thought they were quite fair expecially compared to Oakleys. Best value for money I thought were the Rudy Project Rydon .... which I'm tempted to at the mo.

Stop messing about with glasses - get lazer treatment...no more smeary vision when it rains, no more wobbly wobbly when the road surface is crap.

That's only an option if you've had a stable prescription for 5 years tho!

No thanks. I can't stand anything to do with eyes. It would be my worst nightmare having that done!!!

Plus - what smeary vision? Just treat with a demister.

Do you not wear sunglasses when riding in the sun? (if you can remember what that looks like, of course), or to keep nasty little insects out.
