'jus' is a term used by celebrity chefs to make their gravy or sauce sound upmarket enough that they can charge ten times more for it in their restaurants than they could for 'gravy' or 'sauce'

It's like that nasty thin excuse for custard being called 'creme anglais' Give me proper thick custard! None of than nasty thin stuff because the chef is scrimping ingredients! Bah!

Jus is so the year before last year dahling...it's back to being gravy now. It's about "honest" food nowadays.

In fact you could say anywhere calling gravy anything other than gravy is just so the year before last year

Ah, but what if I wanted to be next year?

I believe next year is the year after the year before the year before last year. So you'll be fine with Gravy. It all comes around.
