So sad to hear the lovely Lynda Bellingham passed away last night.

I loved her in All Creatures Great and Small, and those wonderful OXO adverts.

My condolences to her friends and family.

I read last week she was expecting one last Christmas.

Always seemed like a lovely lady when she was on TV.

My favourite memory of her is seeing her bounding on stage in a flesh coloured body suit with painted on fig leaves in the stage version of Calendar Girls.

I know her illness was terminal but the end came as a surprise as it was so soon after stopping her chemo.Was it the stopping of the treatment or simply giving up the will to live? A friend of mine died last New Years Eve after making it through his last Christmas. Sadly that goal is un-achievable for some if the body and the mind begin to shut down!

Shame, after her brave decision to stop treatment for the cancer that had spread, she only lasted a few weeks. A talented actress that will be missed.

Second best - the best I could wish for would be to die in my sleep, not knowing anything about it. I nearly did it the slow way and I didn't like having plenty of time to think about what was happening to me ...

I thought that she was a better Helen Heriot than Carole Drinkwater. My Mum went on and on for weeks when they changed the actress for that role.
