If we're going to comapare like with like then we really need to start addressing population sizes, percentage of people playing the particular game, the cultural significance of the sport in the country and lots of other factors. And sometimes there IS a popping over to other countries for a fancy centre-forward. The England mens football and cricket teams have shown down the years that they are not averse to a bit of birth-certificatery to get the best players.
