The baffling thing is that they just get detained for two hours and are allowed to go on their way. They should have been kept in the nick and run ragged for a couple of days and then dumped by the Frankfurt police on the edge of the city's boundaries in a remote area and told to make their own way home from there.

I'm not condoning this behaviour or saying they weren't drunk before boarding but always thought it pretty dumb on paper serving large quantities of alcohol to people in very confined spaces. They're probably bored rotten and doubly stupid the alcohol be served by the poor muggins who're going to be on the receiving end of it.

That right Mr Monkey ? The Airline billsl them for the inconvenience, for want of a better word.

They will be sued for to recover the costs of diverting the aircraft (fuel, time) etc. It will be several thousands...

The reason for the short detention in Germany is probably because the German Police don't need the hassle and cost of detaining them for something that was actually done outside of Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They opened their duty fee purchases, they weren't served it as such.
