Join the spritely souls of the Cheam and Morden CTC (famed for their shimmering spokes, sparkling teeth and twinkling eyes) for what is, in my view, the prettiest pootle in southern England. There will be beer (taken from barrels on the bar, not pumped) and cake, and if the weather is good and there's a bit of a bite in the air, you'll marvel at beechwoods, glorious skylines, charming villages, all arranged along quiet country roads. There's a bit of off-road, but it's short, and there's no harm in walking it. Total distance from North Cheam (start at 9am) - around 60 miles

Simon, I had planned for this to be my first Sunday showing on a C&M run but that weekend we take my son off to his first term at Exeter and then for a little hiking on the Coastal Path.

Simon, my wife quite fancies coming on this ride but is concerned about how hilly the route would be and also the pace of the ride.

I think it will be a bit slicker than the FNRttC - about 13mph moving average - and it is hilly. There are some pretty devilish descents

Sounds fun, and local to me.
Unfortunately I'm doing the Leatherhead Bikeathon this Sunday, maybe next time.
