Henry Ford liked marmite. However, he was very badly dyslexic and when he wrote his shipping list for his butler he accidently wrote 'antisemite'.

The butler did as he was bidden and brought home Adolf Hitler to meet his master.

"Top Car" was an American animated cartoon produced by Hannah-Barbera in the 1960s, which is still occasionally repeated on BBC2 and Boomerang.

In the UK, the name "Top Car" was already used for another product, so the show was re-titled "Boss Car".

Celine Dion was a qualified engineer working in car suspension systems in her younger days.

Back then she had a bad stammer, so De Dion suspension was named in her honour.

The Alps are famous for the "Berni Inn" steakhouse chain, an amalgamation of "Bernese Oberland" and "Innsbruck", from West to East across the high Alps.

The chain exited the UK in 1995 after the owners realised following a site visit to the Spalding branch that the manager's claim to enjoy a "commanding view across the glaciers of Lincolnshire" was an embellishment of the reality of their situation - alongside a trunk road and a Q8 petrol station.

"Richard the Lionheart" was an invention of William Shakespeare; his actual nickname was "Dick the Pussy" for reasons alas unable to pass the CycleChat filter.
