Counting how many times while watching the aid, and then checking click for 15 second intervals, over a ride of more than an hour will either get dangerous or tedious quickly. Much easier and safer to get a cadence sensor and look at your trip computer as and when, or look at your average when you finish your ride. Unless you are somewhere on the autistic spectrum that such crazed mathamatics appeal to you more than the joy of riding your bike.

You only need to do it now and again for 15 seconds. Not the whole ride. You soon subconsciously learn to stick to your favoured cadence.

If the important thing is the 'joy of riding your bike', then you don't need a cadence sensor anyway.
