I like him. But, I think he misjudged his audience. The Americans do not like have the piss taken out of them. He offended their President and that is out of reach. His comments would possibly have worked in Europe - but not the US.

Funnily enough, I wonder if his outrageous comments were deliberate self promotion. We are all talking about a fairly mundane MTV award ceremony. He would just have done his job, got paid and drifted off looking for the next job, if he had been 'on message'.

I read his biography recently. I fiished it not being quite sure if it was true or not. Weird life he led if it was true.
