Just curious - is it possible to walk/cycle along the coast from Selsey Bill to Southsea without going miles inland ?
Are there foot ferries across the 2(?) harbours ?

Although I now live a long way away, there is a ferry from Hayling Island over to Eastney on Portsea Island. It was operating last time I was down there and is still shown on OS maps. However, as far as I know, there is no corresponding service across Chichester Harbour from East Head to East Stoke.

There's certainly a ferry from Hayling to Portsmouth, or you could go north along the Farlington cycleway which runs off road from near Emsworth down to Southsea

The northern path is very noisy as it's right nest to the A27 but it's quite a good path (tarmac - at least the bits I've done)

Selsey Bill to Fishbourne is quite easy - lots of options once you get out of Selsey and into Sidlesham - best to use an OS map.

Fishbourne to Emsworth I would use the main road which is fine

The difficult bit is joining the Farlington cycleway from Emsworth!

If you Google Farlington cycleway you get a google map - may be worth looking at and comparing to see if it's possible to link

I wouldn't cycle on that bit of A27 for love nor money
